CITs

The Willow Lake Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program is designed to provide our oldest campers (entering 9th and 10th grades) an exciting and thought-provoking experience while providing significant leadership training experience. The program is intentional and dynamic, full of experiential learning, with goals of helping the CITs gain life skills to not only be used during this summer, but for years to come. CITs participate in a wide variety of activities and are viewed as leaders throughout the camp. We love when CITs “graduate” the program and become Willow Lake staff members!

The program is overseen by an trained educational professional Unit Leader whose sole responsibility is to manage the program and ensure each CIT is being provided with a unique and authentic experience providing an opportunity to grow. Weekly feedback is communicated in a sincere and genuine way so CITs can grow throughout the experience.

Former CITs have told us the program has helped them develop skills such as:

  • Problem Solving

  • Communication
  • Listening
  • Organization
